Prayer Appreciated

Nearly four weeks ago, I began experiencing chest pains and shortness of breath. The onset of symptoms was sudden and unexpected, as I normally do a lot of walking and have never had problems walking five or six miles a day without any breathlessness. At first my doctor thought I may have suffered a pulmonary embolus (blood clot), but an electrocardiogram (ECG) shows possible signs of a cardiac event (maybe a mild heart attack). After two days of outpatient testing in a local hospital, nearly all of the results came back normal. My cholesterol was better than the nurse practitioner who drew my blood! However, subsequent ECG's continue to show abnormal patterns in the lower heart area and I flunked a treadmill stress test last Wednesday. I have a follow-up appointment with a cardiologist this Thursday afternoon. The next test is probably an angiogram or echocardiogram, but eventually they will have to deal with the underlying cause. I'm guessing angioplasty, at the least, but my family doctor fears that I may be facing a bypass operation. Sounds kind of serious for someone who's only 52 and who has never been hospitalized for any reason. Unfortunately, heart disease runs in my genes, inherited from both parents. Knowing the kindness and love of the Father is a wonderful comfort in times like these, but I also know that He loves to hear and answer the prayers of His people. Obviously, I don't want to go through heart surgery. Who would? So I am asking God's people to pray for my healing, and I trust Him completely for the outcome, no matter what happens. Thanks for your continued prayers for my ministry in Wales, but a very special thanks to those who can join me before the throne over this very urgent need in my life.

    Bill,
I am praying and do for you all each day. “Father, grant healing to my brother. Manifest Your grace and power in and through His life. Let Your love and mercy overwhelm he and his precious family. May You, the God of ALL hope, fill them with all joy and peace as they trust in You, and may there lives superabound and overflow with hope, by the power of the Holy Spirit. In Jesus” mighty Name!

Bill, I just saw this. I wish I had seen it sooner. I’ll be praying for you. I’ll be trusting in Jesus’ strong words as I pray for your healing,

23 And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you. 24 Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full. 25 “These things I have spoken to you in figurative language; but the time is coming when I will no longer speak to you in figurative language, but I will tell you plainly about the Father. 26 In that day you will ask in My name, and I do not say to you that I shall pray the Father for you; 27 for the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me, and have believed that I came forth from God.

  7. Patty says:

Hey Bill. I’m praying. Please post a follow-up after your next appointment.
