UPDATE: I'm "recycling" this previous post. Time is getting short and I am still trying to find two people who might like to spend a year in Wales serving the Lord alongside us.
Temple Baptist Church is seeking a couple of ministry interns, beginning immediately or no later than 1 September 2007. We are flexible on the duration of the internships, but it would be really great if interns could serve from six to twelve months. There is no salary provided, but housing and meals will be furnished, along with a small stipend. You would need to raise your own support, including travel to and from Pontypridd, Wales. A car would be unnecessary, since you would be housed within walking distance of the town centre of Pontypridd, a regional market town in South Wales, UK. There are excellent rail and coach/bus links to the entire UK. The purpose of this internship is to provide a learning environment for Christians who would like to explore their own unique gifting and passion for ministry. We hope that God will send individuals who are not afraid to think outside the box when it comes to reaching people in this extremely secular culture. There is much more ministry potential than we have the people resources to fulfill, including but not limited to:
- Conducting assembly programs in local schools
- Teaching children about Jesus
- Getting to know non-Christian university students from all over the world
- Developing and leading household churches
- Assisting in the daily operation of a Christian bookshop & coffee shop
- Forging Gospel relationships with those who live in a local hostel for the homeless
- Hanging out with teens who love the Lord and are seeking to grow in Him
- Participating & planning alternative worship events on Sunday evenings
- Helping out with technology & sound for the Temple's morning worship service
- Starting neighbourhood youth clubs
- Reaching marginalised people (homeless, addicts, disabled, etc.)
- Pursuing new avenues of community engagement
Please contact me if this sounds like something you would be interested in pursuing. If you are not currently resident within the UK or the Commonwealth, you may be required to obtain a visa through the Home Office of the Immigration and Nationality Directorate.

Hey brother. I was just thinking about you. Deb and I were discussing you over lunch. We were talking about giving, and how we ought to lay up for ourselves treasures in heaven, and I mentioned you. She asked about your ministry and wondered who you were connected with these days. I told her you were connected with a church there and that you were looking for a couple of interns. I thought I’d check back and see if anyone has come forward yet.
Drop me a line or give me a shout.
I love you brother and am praying that the Lord will direct you into much fruitful ministry.
Tom
