I spent hours last night composing a new blog entry regarding the first chapter of Total Church, but lost the entire thing due to a computer malfunction (an extremely rare occurrence on my Macintosh). Rather than write the entry in a text editor, like I normally do, I made the mistake of trusting the online blog editor in WordPress. Never again! Even though it's supposed to save the post every sixty seconds or so, it failed miserably and now I am extremely frustrated that I have to recreate the article.
It's probably a good object lesson for me. What would have taken only seconds—to load up my text editor—in order to write a lengthy article in a safe environment has now cost me hours of time, just because the online editor was there in front of me, tempting me to cut corners and get cracking on the article. There must be a lesson here, or at the very least a tiny step in the ongoing process of sanctification, learning patience, controlling my anger, or curbing my occasional temptations to commit computer homocide.
