Arriving 48 hours earlier than expected, Emmett Elijah Martinez made a quiet debut in Pensacola, Florida, early Saturday morning; and we just received this precious photograph in the past few hours. Although we are 4,000 miles away, our tickets are already booked for an early morning departure from Bristol, England, a week from today. We’re looking forward to meeting our new grandson and spending two weeks enjoying the beautiful Redneck Riviera along the Gulf Coast of Florida. Our daughter is doing well after the caesarean section birth and remains in the hospital. Our little Elijah weighed 8 pounds, 3 ounces.

Congrats, Grandpa! Safe travels to you and your wife. Enjoy the time with your newly growing family. May is great time of year for a birthday!!
Congratulations brother!
There is nothing like having a new grandchild!
We have three and two on the way!
Blessings!

Thanks, everyone! Our son visited over the weekend (from England) and said they’ve been talking about preparing to have a baby after nearly two years of marriage. This could get interesting…grandkids on two continents!!
