For those who live in the “Blogger” ghetto and want to move up to the very best blogging platform on earth, here’s a great instructional video (45 minutes) that covers everything you need to know for setting up a WordPress.com website. Accounts are completely free and—once you’re registered—you can set up as many blogs as you like. After using this version of WordPress for awhile, you may be tempted to move into a self-hosted site, but the learning curve can be quite steep for the technologically challenged user. Power users might resent being limited to three or four dozen templates and the inability to tweak their code, but WordPress.com is an incredible deal for the average blogger.

Bill, you are a man after my own heart
I love WordPress, when I build sites for clients this is the very first thing I suggest to them. But yes, once you move to wordpress.com you will never go back to blogger.
Thanks, Nick. I’m really glad that WordPress set up this free blogging platform, because it can be quite intimidating to set up a self-hosted system unless you’re really motivated to learn. After three or four years of doing this stuff, I still get a little nervous about updating to the latest release; however, there’s a great community out there who are working really hard to make it easier for newbies.
