Bill LollarHi, my name is Bill Lollar! Let me share a little of my background with you.

Church planting figured prominently from the very beginning of my Christian life. God's Spirit rescued me in 1970 as a hyper-involved (but unsaved) church member of a new SBC church being planted in Hernando, Mississippi. Being new to the community I devoted my youthful energy to serving as a Royal Ambassadors (RA) leader, the fledgling congregation's Church Training director, a member of the choir, and a leader in our youth ministry.... all at the age of fifteen! When God called me several years later as a minister of the Gospel, I sensed that it would be working with small, struggling churches for the rest of my life, not fully realizing the implications or challenges that lay ahead.

In God's providence, I have served as the founding pastor/planter of three unique Southern Baptist churches: a church revitalization effort in a large Midwestern city, a house church in a rural area of the Great Lakes region, and a traditional church in the Deep South. Each church was established with a commitment to the rich evangelical heritage of the Southern Baptist Convention as summarized in the Baptist Faith & Message.

In 1997, I accepted the call as a part-time church planting consultant for the Florida Baptist Convention while continuing to plant my third SBC church. One year later, my wife and I were commissioned as church planting missionaries with the North American Mission Board (NAMB), and I assumed full-time responsibilities for the Florida Panhandle, a large region consisting of 18 counties and 14 Southern Baptist associations. As a church planting strategist, I helped facilitate the establishment of 36 churches in the Florida Panhandle, serving through July 31, 2003.

We now serve as missionaries in Wales. Our family moved to the United Kingdom in June 2004 to begin a ministry in the South Wales valleys, just north of the capitol city of Cardiff. I continue to direct GCPM's ministry in North America through regular e-mail correspondence and telephone contact with pastors and church planters; however, our primary focus is the United Kingdom, particularly the small principality of Wales.
